Material Girl” products feature hip and
contemporary hand-embossed velvet
accessories designed by Portland, Maine
artist, Susan Cloutier.  

The embossing technique involves burning
unique impressions onto solid pieces of
velvet with heated presses and rubber
templates.

The embossed velvets are then fabricated
into original wearable pieces of art.   

Wide Scarves are 7"x62"
Slim Scarves 5"x62"

Scarves are backed with black crushed velvet.

Some scarves are created with solid pieces
of velvet and one impression, others are the  
"patchwork" version . Patchwork scarves
consist of three complimenting colors with
different impressions that are artfully joined
to make a one of a kind wearable piece of art.
